Restoring degraded rangelands through quarantine in Qadis district, Badghis Afghanistan
To rehabilitate the degraded rangeland, measures such as quarantine and controlled grazing were applied to one thousand hectares (ha). Rangeland quarantine, which involves temporary restrictions on livestock grazing and human activity, helps mitigate degradation by allowing the land to recover from overuse. This recovery period can lead to improvements in vegetation health, soil fertility, water quality and biodiversity.
