20. Aug. 2026: Officially launch at UNCCD COP17 in Mongolia

At the COP17 Side Event Consultation and Knowledge Sharing on Strengthening Capacity for Land Degradation Neutrality Monitoring and Decision Support, we officially launched the GEF-UNDP-funded Project "Decision Support for Land Degradation Neutrality" DS4LDN. Together with representatives from UNDP, Global Environment Facility, WOCAT/CDE, Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS), Apacheta, participating countries, Youth Negotiators Academy and many others, we moved straight from launching the project to shaping its work. Four breakout groups explored needs and opportunities for Small Island Developing States (SIDS), Hyper-arid areas, Mountainous areas, and LDN targets. Discussions focused on capacity needs, useful knowledge products, institutions for co-production, and opportunities for South–South collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The ideas collected will directly help shape the knowledge products and exchange opportunities developed through DS4LDN.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed their experience and perspectives!
